Comments From Past Participants of the Miss America Program

"The opportunity to compete at Miss America is an experience that I will always remember. It was more than just appearing on stage and playing in the sand of the Atlantic City Shore. It was meeting with Senators and Congressmen, visiting soldiers at Andrews Air Force Base, and working with hospitalized children. Making top ten was exciting, but it was the Miss America experience and memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life."
— Kelley Scott, Miss Oklahoma 2003

"When I arrived at the first rehearsal for my very first local pageant, I sat quietly in the corner, trying to go as unnoticed as possible. A few weeks later, I left that auditorium with a scholarship to advance my education, an unexpected pageant title, but most importantly, a wealth of self-confidence that I have drawn on time and time again. Miss America is more than a crown. It is even more than a scholarship program. The Miss America Organization enhances a young woman's ability to dream."
— Laura Lawless, Miss Arizona 2002

"Being a contestant in the Miss America Program has contributed to the person I am today. Not only have I honed interview and public speaking skills to last a lifetime, I have learned invaluable networking and communication skills unlike anything I could have learned in a classroom. I thank the Miss America Organization for their commitment to the pursuit of my educational, personal, and professional goals. You have made all the difference!"
— Tanisha Nicole Brito, Miss Connecticut 2002

" . . . I will always be indebted to the Miss America volunteers and to my peers in the system — they’ve changed my life forever. Because of the Miss America program, I was able to graduate debt-free from the college of my choice."
— Jennifer Hover White, Miss Missouri 2001

"Since I began competing in the Miss America system, I have traveled to five countries, delivered thousands of speeches, performed in thousands of venues, earned over $15,000 in appearance fees, and been awarded over $25,000 in scholarships. More importantly, I have been given the invaluable opportunity for self-improvement. My experiences with the Miss America Organization have catapulted me through life, taking me farther than I would ever have gone on my own.”"
— Stephanie Baldwin, Miss California 2001

"I would like to express my gratitude to the Miss America Organization for not only transforming me into a poised, well-spoken young woman, but also for funding my entire college education. The Miss America Organization provides opportunities for women, like myself, to strive for a college degree and beyond. On my college graduation day, receiving my diploma will feel wonderful, but knowing that I am debt-free will feel even better. Thank you Miss America!!!"
— Amy Shaw, Miss Kansas 2000

"My participation in the Miss America program has given me so much: friendships, public speaking skills, memories, and scholarships. However, I believe the most valuable benefit for me has been an increased sense of self."
— Jill Pennington, Miss Nebraska 2000

"My involvement in the Miss America Organization and my "Making a Commitment to Kids" (MACK) literacy platform have opened my eyes to the true meaning of "wearing the crown." I know that a crown is just an inanimate object, but it's what I can do with the crown through my platform that makes the Miss America Organization so special to me, and so worthy of dedicating my time. The success stories I have witnessed are the reasons I strive to "wear the crown" everyday by being a good role model and by trying my best to make a difference in my community through my platform. Regardless of the outcome of the actual competition, when you can step out of yourself and make a difference in the lives of others, you are a winner in this program."
— MacKenzie Mayes, Miss Monticello 1999

"What a wonderful program the Miss America Scholarship Organization is!! I am accomplishing my life goals, due, in large part to what I learned through participation in this system, but it took years of hard work and dedication to understand the true meaning of the power of the crown. If you are competing strictly for a crown, your heart might be broken, but if you are competing to further your education and make a difference in the lives of others, it will be the most rewarding experience of your life. I have always felt that the true power of the crown, or any type of “fame” lies in its potential to do good, and when I look into the eyes of the children I have been able to touch through my work in this program, I know exactly what the stones in the crown represent. The light from the crown still reflects in my life, as I complete my Specialist Degree in Psychology in order to continue working with the children who became the focus of my years of service as a local and state titleholder. Thank you, MAO, for helping me to become the person I am today."
— Chera-Lyn Cook-Kennedy, Miss Kentucky 1998

"Being involved in the Miss America experience, from the local to the national level, was a swift process that had positive and life altering effects. Embarking "on the road to Miss America" was a journey of self-discovery and tremendous growth. I was able to realize and to develop personal skills and talents that had yet been untapped. This experience instilled in me a deeper commitment and investment in my community and to public service, which continues to strongly influence my work in dance education. I am grateful for being one of many who have benefited from the support and efforts of the Miss American Organization and its thousands of volunteers committed to the growth of young woman in the United States. Keep up the GREAT work that you are doing!"
— Tina Curran, Miss North Dakota 1988

Smiles and tears of emotion decorated Laura Kaeppeler's face (23 years) when the crown of Miss America sit on top of his hair, last weekend in Las Vegas - U.S.. This representative from Wisconsin was entitled to the title of Miss America 2012. "Thank you. Thank you very much for the audience and the other contestants," said Kaeppeler who repeatedly wiped her emotion tears.

For her victory, Kaeppeler was eligible to receive the prizes and scholarships from the Miss America organization. That night Kaeppeler has pocketed prize of U.S. $ 50 thousand.

This graduate of the music school will replace the previous Miss America duties, Teresa Scanlan from Nebraska. Later Kaeppeler -- as Miss America -- should do the social-humanitarian activities and traveling to various places. She must speak to various groups and trying to raise funds for humanitarian agencies run by the Miss America organization, the Children's Miracle Network.

However, what is thought by Kaeppeler behind the expensive gowns and glitter of the Miss America crown she wore that night? This woman who was born in 1988 wants to all children who are abandoned by their parents (because their parents are incarcerated) must still obtain the best possible guidance. "There are a lot of you (children abandoned by their parents) out there and I'm one of them," said Kaeppeler after the process of embedding the crown of Miss America 2012.

Kaeppeler said there were more than 2 million U.S. children who had to be abandoned by their parents because their father or mother were in prison. She explained she had been living without the guidance of her father for more than a year because her father had to go jail due to criminal cases. What happened to her family didn't make her stand still. Conversely, the suffering brought her to focus and keep moving looking to the future. "That's what has made my family and I would encourage others to do so as well," said the woman who aspires to continue her education in law. She wants the education can pave the way for her to be a lawyer to help families and parents of children with parents with status as the inmates.

In the final night of Miss America 2012 hat lasted about 2 hours, Kaeppeler successfully passed the most important moment when the jury gave her a question about the political situation in the U.S. today.

"Miss America represents everyone. So, I think the message should be communicated to the candidates politicians is that they have to represent each person as possible," said Kaeppeler. "Even in the difficult economic times," she said, "Miss the Miss America candidates have to see what the American people needed in the future. "I think Miss America should represent all that. I feel like I'm called to this work. It's something that I will pursue in a career, no matter what the obstacles," said Kaeppeler deftly.

Kaeppeler also showed her talent to sing the opera songs in the final night. She was dazzling to the audience eyes when she waddled on stage with bikinis and dresses. When she wore a black dress, the host compared the her black dress with the dress worn by the newest member of the United Kingdom, Kate Middleton, when she married Prince William.

P.S : What happened to you, Miss Washington? I like your expression, ... so natural!

Yeah, I think the event like this can produce benefits if its size is material; ie can make a person becomes famous, can boost the sales of the company's product advertisers and even generates the foreign exchange for the country from tourism, but, well .... when we went on vacation at the beach and I wore a bikini was different than when I wore a bikini was part of the assessment for the triumph of a woman on stage election as the "best". I felt embarrassed while watching their body's private parts. I do not know how or what was in the minds of the jury, moreover if the jury members were mostly men, auww .... (So, Ladies, don't be angry if maybe they enjoy your body visually. And maybe you also know it. And to you dahling, thanks for your courteous eyes, which still say there's nothing else but just me: Your "Miss Somewhereoutthere", "Miss Afraidtogetmarried", "Miss Laterwheniamgettingready", "Miss Justlovethebabybutnotyou", until "Miss Alwaysliketothinkaboutmarriageandalwaysdeferit",... and for all your favorite nickname for me. Thank you, thank you. I love you. Mmmmuah...! But I wonder, don't you know that I'm not just your Miss "Everything For You"? I'm also a kind of your Miss-ing Link! ehhehehe...)

I R A N - CHINA- SAUDI ARABIA

Iran warned Arab states not to replace their oil exports associated with the embargo by the European Union.

Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao called upon Saudi Arabia to increase their gas and oil production. Wen also promised the rewards for investment expansion of China's leading companies in Saudi Arabia if the offer has been fulfilled.

Xinhua reported the investment promised by the government of China in Saudi Arabia, especially those associated with transport, ports, electricity, telecommunications and infrastructure.

Wen expressed his appointment directly to the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Nayef during a visit to Saudi Arabia last weekend.

So far, Saudi Arabia is the largest crude oil supplier to China. The first 11-month period in 2011, Saudi Arabia supplied 45, 5 million tons of crude oil to China. That number is 12.9% greater when compared with the same period a year earlier.

Besides Saudi Arabia, Angola and Iran are the second and the third largest crude oil supplier to China. However, the oil imports from Saudi Arabia is still the main pillar for China. "China and Saudi Arabia are in a critical development stage. There are broad prospects to enhance the cooperation, "Wen said when meeting with Prince Nayef.

Chinese researchers from the Eurasia Group, Michael Meidan saw the pressure exerted by China to Saudi Arabia in response to the potential for the occurrence of oil price hikes, over Iran's nuclear program conflict with the United States and the European Union. Moreover, Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, one of the path of tanker traffic from the Gulf countries. China to assess the war and economic sanctions imposed by the West would disrupt the supply of crude oil imports from Iran.

China has even been affected by its impact on this month. Oil imports from Iran for January and February have been declining, so it makes the Chinese must seek alternative supplies.

Prince Nayef has approved the expansion of cooperation efforts in energy and infrastructure with China. At almost the same time, Saudi Arabian oil company, Aramco has signed an agreement for the construction of oil refinery with a capacity of 400 thousand barrels per day with a Chinese company, Sinopec.

On the other hand, Iran warned Arab states not to boost the production of their crude oil to replace Iranian oil associated with the imposition of an embargo by the European Union. "The consequences of this issue can't be expected. Therefore, neighboring Arab countries should not cooperate with the adventurers and should take a wise policy." said Iran's OPEC governor, Mohammad Ali Khatibi during an interview with the daily Sharq.

And, of course, the U.S. suspected a hidden agenda of the visit. The reason was China previously ignored the U.S. economic sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program. Previously, the U.S. accused the largest crude oil importer company from China --Zhuhai Zhenrong-- mediated the delivery of fuel oil with a value of U.S. $ 500 million to Iran during July 2010 to January 2011. Although a spokesman for Zhuhai Zhenrong, Zheng May has dismissed the accusations, but China is believed will not blindly follow the U.S. suggestion to not buy crude oil from Iran. I dunno if the UN will make a resolution to ban oil imports from Iran, it would be another story.

In a meeting with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu yesterday (01/15) in Saudi Arabia, Wen Jiabao said that China and the OIC have a shared interest in maintaining the peace and stability in the West Asia and North Africa region. He believed the problem in this area could be solved by the government and its own people.

Wen Jiabao said China was looking at an important role and influence of the OIC. China also wanted to improve the political trust, coordination in problem solving, exchanges, and cooperation with the Islamic world. Wen Jiabao called for an end all acts of violence for civilians as well as supported the people's demands for reform. Wen hoped the government and people in the region could deal with each one independently, and also expected the OIC with the Arab League could play an important role in the settlement.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed his party was strongly in maintaining the exchange and coordination with China from strategic side, and would encourage the friendship among Islamic countries with China. (I had read some articles about Islam and one of the Prophet Muhammad's messages that I remembered was, "Acquire knowledge even to the China.", hmmm... perhaps this is one of the signs of proving the truth of the times. Eeeh... I think this is even better, because the Arabs didn't need to go to China, because even China came to the Arabs. )

C H I N A : Welcomes New Year 2012

In 2012 Chinese New Year falls on Monday, January 23, 2012 and it is the Chinese New Year into 2563 with zodiac Water dragon. This water dragon symbolizes the strength, goodness, courage, detachment. Dragon is also a symbol of vigilance and safety of all the Chinese mythological creatures, and the highest creature which becomes the king of all animals in the universe.

Based on the ancient folklore and legends, Chinese new year is celebrated as the Chinese were successful against mythical creatures known as Nian, which means The Year in Chinese. Nian creatures always appeared on the first day of New Year and the arrival of the Nian to prey on the livestock, agriculture and even eat the inhabitants, especially the children.

For survivors of Nian's catastrophe, Chinese villagers would put some food on their doorstep on the first day of new year. People believe that, if Nian has taken/ eating food that has been provided by the community, then Nian will no longer attack the people/residents.

One day, a resident saw a Nian was frightened and ran away from a red-costumed children. Based on the incident, the villagers finally knew the Nian's weakness:  afraid of red color.

Since then, each leading up to and during the New Year, people would hang the red lanterns and installing the blinds/red curtains the on doors and windows. People also used the firecrackers to scare Nian. Since then, Nian has never again appeared in their villages.

Chinese New Year is the moment of meeting of all family members once a year. Family members will share and give their experience during the year. This celebration is a very meaningful when every member of the family and their neighbors to establish the mutual love, mutual nurturing, and start a new life (with a new outfit).

During the new year people will congratulate each other with the sentence:
* "Gōngxǐ facai" (Mandarin)
* "Kung hei fat choi" (Cantonese)
* "Kiong Hi Huat cai" (Hokkien)
* "Kiong hi fat choi" (Hakka language)

Typical of Chinese New Year celebration is the ornaments, red ornaments, Nian gao, Hang bao, lanterns, Sugarcane and Lion dance.

The following is the tradition, the meaning and history of the ornaments

* The Red color: has the meaning of peace, bringing the blessings and good fortune, and it is believed that it is feared by Nian and can ward off demons and evil spirits.

* Sticky Cake / Nian Gao : There is a custom at the time of the lunar new year to first eat the sticky cake before eating rice as a hope to be always fortunate in their work throughout the year. Nian Gao (Nian means year and Gao means cake) sounds like a high, so this cake is often composed of high-rise and getting smaller at the top, which gives the meaning as improvement in terms of sustenance or prosperity. In ancient times, high cake signified the prosperity of the family of homeowners.

These cakes are usually prepared to the top with a red bowl cake on top. This is as sweet life symbol which increasingly uphill and bloom like the cupcakes. Nian Gao has significance as a unifying the kinship, brotherhood and friendship.

Nian Gao

* Red Pockets/Hang Bao : In the Hokkien dialect, its literal meaning is the package /Red Envelope. Actually, this tradition is not just for the lunar new year, but in any event that symbolizes the joy such as weddings, birthdays, get a new home etc. Hang bao at Chinese New Year has a special term that is "Yes Sui", which means a gift given to children related to the age and turn of the year. In the old days, the prize were usually the sweets, candy and food. Henceforth, because of the times, parents find it easier to give money and let the children decide what prize they would buy. Traditionally, only married people are allowed to give Hang Bao.

* Lantern : In the Lunar new year, the lanterns are displayed in homes or yards or in public places such as parks, gardens, streets, alleys and so forth.

Red lanterns is believed to be a symbol of happiness, and fits for fun events. These lanterns are painted and decorated with ornaments all sorts, and calligraphic letters. Lanterns are made of paper, cloth, animal skins, and the embroideries of silk and others.

* Sugarcane: is a plant symbolizes the longevity. If getting longer and many segments of sugarcane, the more luck brought by them. Each segment in the cane symbolizes stages of human life.

Viewed in terms of taste, sugar cane is one of the plants is which preferred by many living things because it tastes sweet. From a sweet taste, human existence on this earth should be able to bring benefits to our fellow beings. The meaning of life which is contained in this Sugarcane is exactly the same as Bamboo. Its segment symbolizes the longevity, while its green color means the mercy of luck.

* The Lion dance : has a history of thousands of years. The first record of this dance can be traced during the Chin Dynasty in about the third century BC.

It is said there are several versions of the Lion Dance history. The most famous is Nian version (monsters). During the Qing Dynasty, in one region in China, there was a monster that disturbed the local population to cause unrest and fear. At the time, a lion appeared to dispel the monster. Finally, the monster was defeated and fled in fear. After that the lion was also gone. But this monster would take revenge and people didn't know where the lion was gone. Finally they made the clothes with a model as of now it is known, and got rid of the monsters. (O, I see. My conclusion from all this symbolism is, if you feel afraid of something, then make yourself like what makes you afraid. Hohohoo ... Do not start me to describe it further, Cisca! For example, if you are afraid of terrorists, does that mean you must be a terrorist to get rid of your fears, hmmm ...? ...)

This is what underlies why the lion dance is always presented in the celebration of Chinese New Year, to ward off the monsters which equated with bad auras."

According to Chinese belief, the lion is also a symbol of happiness and pleasure. The lion dance is believed as a show which can bring the good luck, so generally it is held on various important events such as the opening of the restaurant, construction of the pagoda, and of course the new year celebration.

The main motion of the dance is when the lion takes the envelope containing the money referred to as "Lai See". On top of the envelope is usually plastered with watercress vegetables that symbolize the gifts for the Lion. The process of eating "Lai See" lasts about half a part of the Lion dance.

U.S ELECTION 2012

Apparently, people all over the world should be involved in every United States presidential election. Because the policy of the U.S. president is directly or indirectly will affect the lives of everyone on the planet. I am not a political expert, but my anxiety is probably representing the anxiety of many people. It can be said, no place in this world can escape from a touch of the U.S influence.

U.S. presidential election process, as it is currently underway is always interesting to be followed. The world needs to know what kind of person who would become the U.S. president, and foreign policy what will be taken which will impact to the citizens of the world.

This year, the world's eyes focus on the six presidential candidates (candidates) of the Republican Party. One of them will be a challenger to Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential election, in November 2012. Who knows, the challenger would replace Obama to lead the U.S. for four years.

Then, how the thought of the republican candidates about the world today, and what policies will they take? To answer this question, unfortunately, not too promising an exciting future for the world.

All the Republican presidential candidates (except Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman) seem not to follow the development in recent years, mainly the things related to the fact that the economic power is currently more important in the world rather than solely military strength. They are still screaming about the world that has passed, full of military threats, or the world inhabited by the ghosts that must be put down with the global war or the Waterboarding torture technique.

One candidate, former senator Rick Santorum, who has always come across as a pious and devout during the campaign doesn't hesitate to affirm he will bomb Iran to halt its nuclear program. "Sometimes, the scientists who worked for Iran's nuclear program have been found dead. I think it's a good thing," Santorum said in a campaign speech, in October 2011 as quoted by ABC News.

Two other candidates-ie, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, also openly supported the war against Iran. In a campaign speech last November, Romney even said that if Obama was re-elected, Iran would likely have the nuclear weapons.

This is the example of suspicion statements that had brought the U.S on the war in Iraq, using scare tactics and quasi-heroic policies to trigger the foreign's involvement which is unnecessary and costly.

In some cases, the candidates statements reflected the lack of knowledge or lack of understanding of the foreign issues. Gingrich, for example, reaped the anger of the Palestinian officials after he called Palestinians as the "fiction nation" which didn't have any rights in the land of Israel.

"Remember, there is never a Palestinian state. They used to be part of the Ottoman Empire. And I think the Palestinian nation is a fiction nation. They are originally Arabs, and has historically always been a part of the Arab community," Gingrich said in an interview with Jewish Channel, December 9. Gingrich also said, if he became the president, he would issue an executive order to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the city which became a center of Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

In general, the conservative party candidate showed the blind support for Israel and tended to ignore the complexities of the Middle East problem. Romney, who until now is still the strongest candidate, openly showing his support to Israel with a promise to make Israel as his first overseas trip destination when he later becomes the president.

Their dangerous and embarrassing statement showed how the current Republican Party has been so away from reality-based foreign policy as a duet era of President George H.W.Bush (Bush senior) and Secretary of State James Baker the early 1990s. It's scary to imagine where they would bring the Middle East & the U.S. policy if one of them was elected later.

See how they look to Asia? In general, these candidates didn't agree and promise to change any policies of President Obama, including his decision to focus on the Asia Pacific region. "President Obama seems to think we will enter the global century, the century of Asia. I believe we have entered the American century, "said Romney.

In terms of China, the candidates were racing to produce the strong statement. Romney promised to directly issue the command to indicate China as a "currency manipulator" as he became the president.

Texas Governor Rick Perry even predicted the fate of the Chinese communist government would be similar to the Soviet Union. "I happen to think, the government of communist China will end up on the ash heap of history," said Perry. His bombast was not in accordance with the practice in the field. As Governor of Texas, Perry allowed the telecommunications companies from China, Huawei opened an office in Plano, Texas, whereas the U.S. federal government has three times rejected the entry of China's telecom industry giants to the U.S. for security reasons related to business espionage and Huawei's ties with Chinese People's Liberation Army.

Strong statements of the prospective U.S.leaders to China could be a boomerang. Such rhetoric can be exploited by nationalist groups and the conservative wing of the Chinese government. And the strengthen hardliners as it could lead to more than just economic tensions, but also a military confrontation.

Indeed, the candidates were always away from the shadows of their predecessor-- President George W. Bush -- during the running of their campaigns. But, in truth they still carry the same mindset with a trio of George W Bush - Dick Cheney - Donald Rumsfeld - who has made the United States was stuck in two wars: Debt and Financial Crisis, and became the country with bad image in the eyes of the world. (So, to my partner, every time I found him was as if thinking of something, I always tickled his waist, "Dahling, if Obama wins, let's get married!" Btw, do you remember this movie? This palace? It's a beautiful place, isn't it? And this Yellow Cake? But it's enough for me to prove my love to him with this This Yellow Cake ... , Yum Yum... )

Farben also produced and supplied the toxic gases that were used to (supposedly) killed thousands of women and children in Nazi Auschwitch.

It is very difficult to imagine how the company can grow and succeed in a country such as the U.S..

You must know, the Jews occupied almost all major business, banking sector and almost all the media in the U.S.. I.G. Farben took part in the assassination of (supposedly) thousands of Jews in the second world war.

The following information is almost incredible, and indeed can not be tolerated. Before and during the second world war, the Bush family and his colleagues had established a cooperative relationship with the I.G. Farben. The same family that gave birth to two American presidents with the support of the Jewish people and most members of their cabinet was also Jewish.

How could the Jewish community to support people who have worked together and responsible for the deaths of millions of Jews during World War II? This really makes no sense!

**Bayer is a major investor in the Carlyle Group, led by a former assistant secretary of defense and director of the period of the Reagan-Bush, Frank Carlucci. George H.W. Bush was a consultant for the Carlyle, and his consulting fees was given back to the Carlyle and he got the stock.)

And this video, ... (Eek, Ciscaaaa... Cisca, come on,... stop it! Remember your promise earlier this year, hmmm?)

Okay, then if so, how about this video? I hope this does not break my promise. I'll be gentle with my mind.

(Oh no. I know you, Cisca! Do not pretend to watch this video if you just want to repeat it in minute 1:06 to 1:07 -when-the-rabbit's-upper-front-teeth-and-the-V-shaped-lips-said, "From Paris, See you ...!" ... And I hear your heart is jumping up! Returns the greeting and screaming, "See youuuuu..." , right?)

LONDON : Urban Farming

Urban Farming movements which was in popular in recent years has not been too slacking. In the big cities of the world, this movement even more widespread and touches the main places of community activity.

That's what happened in London, England. Last week, the architects who were sensitive to the environment had been invited by city officials to visit the location of the 2012 Olympics.

In the area located in the eastern part, the architects were asked to analyze the potential of using the Olympics as a plantation area of the city or also known as Urban Farming. The local government wanted when the Olympics was over in September 2012, the location was used for growing various vegetables and fruits.

Urban Farming Movement was actually not a new thing. Its communities had begun to emerge in urban areas in about seven years ago and the action of gardening was increasingly popular and supported the government in major cities in about three years ago. But the development of Urban Farming movement in London was regarded the most rapidly. In 2008, the mayor of London Boris Johnson launched Growth Capital, the movement that encourages Londoners to transform derelict land into productive gardens. The lands were the school yard, yard house, land beside the railway up to the roof of the building.

Of course, the city government was not only to encourage, but also provided the incentives for 1000 pounds sterling for apartment owners who made the garden on the roof. From only 50 gardens at the beginning of Capital Growth's launch, now it has become in 1500 the number of gardens.

The rapid growth of real Urban Farming in London was not only due to incentives of money, but also because the residents saw the new business opportunities. "Since last year we've seen people sold their crops," said Ben Reynolds, the Sustain network director. Sustain is an organization that runs the Capital Growth work program.

One example of a fairly big business is the sale of vegetables from homeless shelters St.Mungos with The Table Cafe. Now, even appears as well the movement of breeding and fish farming in urban areas as is done by UK Aquaponics.

"Urban Farming is growing by leaps and bounds. Now about 50 thousand people are linked to this movement." Reynolds said.

One of the directors of companies with environmentally-based Something & Son, Andrew Merritt assessed the Urban Farming opened a new perspective. "This movement makes the citizens can now connect with their food source. Not just to buy vegetables at the store, but they can choose which of course directly from the garden, fresh guaranteed." said the man who was also invited by the city government to review the Olympic venues.

Urban Farming movement surely can save the cost of food due to cutting the cost of distribution. Metropolitan cities are now able to reduce their dependence on the buffer area.

My goodness,... how retarded I am! I guess this is the SEALs 6, it turns out ... omama .... so cute. From the first since I saw them, so cute. I want to kiss them, they are plump. What is thin only their whiskers. Kiss you Seals, hug you tightly... mwah!

Well, there was also news about their world. Southern elephant seals (Mirounga Leonina) ventured so far at the time of migration, up to 18,000 miles from New York to Sydney and back again. It was known from research results of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) on the southern sea elephant named Jackson.

WCS began a track record of Jackson's odyssey from December 2010 until November 2011. WCS was tagging Jackson in Admiralty Sound in Tierra del Fuego, Chile, and equipped it with a satellite transmitter so that the exact location of Jackson could be detected when it was sticking to the surface.

During Jackson's wandering, scientists recorded the entire data to determine the migratory routes of this southern elephant seals. From the analysis, it was known that Jackson did wanderings as far as 1,600 kilometers to the north, starting from the release site, 640 kilometers to the west and 160 kilometers to the south.

Happy smile and a sweet story of their baby to this family. Congratulation!

Yeah, welcome, sweet baby. I learn a few lessons from this incident, that if we can be born anywhere, anytime, it means we also can die anywhere, anytime. Recognizing this fact, then we need to prepare the things that need to be prepared for the two events.(... and you dahling, don't forget to prepare our weekend schedule, in China Town: Egg Foo Yung... )

"Thank you for your perception! I like your romantic side, even if I do not always comment and I'm glad that you're in my circle of friends."
(Courtesies by: Wolfgang A. Gerhardt)

Wolfgang A.Gerhardt : May be you like this Sunday collage

Cisca Zarmansyah : Before today, there never was a person doing this to me. You create a simple matter to look special. This is a special thing for me.

Cisca Zarmansyah : Thank you. I love it. I love you, my friend.

CieL- FreYa Ceastle : Hmm, he's so nice...

"I am me.
In all the world,
there is no one else exactly like me.
Everything that comes out of me
is authentically mine,
because I alone chose it --
I own everything about me:
my body,
my feelings,
my mouth,
my voice,
all my actions,
whether they be to others or myself.
I own my fantasies,
my dreams,
my hopes,
my fears.
I own my triumphs and successes,
all my failures and mistakes.
Because I own all of me,
I can become intimately acquainted with me.
By so doing,
I can love me
and be friendly with all my parts.
I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me,
and other aspects that I do not know
-- but as long as I am friendly
and loving to myself,
I can courageously and hopefully
look for solutions
to the puzzles and ways
to find out more about me.
However I look and sound,
whatever I say and do,
and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time
is authentically me.
If later some parts of how I looked,
sounded,
thought,
and felt
turn out to be unfitting,
I can discard that which is unfitting,
keep the rest,
and invent something new
for that which I discarded.
I can see,
hear,
feel,
think,
say, and do.
I have the tools to survive,
to be close to others,
to be productive,
and to make sense
and order out of the world of people
and things outside of me.
I own me,
and therefore,
I can engineer me.
I am me,
and I am okay."
